Since 2003, the Waldorf Steiner Education Association (WSEA), a registered non-profit, has nurtured a gentler, holistic way of learning in Singapore.
Driven purely by educational ideals and service rather than profit, we unite parents, educators, and advocates who believe in childhood enriched by imagination, rhythm, and deep respect for natural development—in a warm, media-free, loving environment.
Our mission is to support, develop, and grow Waldorf-Steiner education in Singapore by fostering holistic child development of imagination, creativity, and community connection. We operate programs for children and adults, mentor teachers, and engage families in a shared journey that embraces warmth, and meaningful relationships.
We envision a thriving Waldorf community in Singapore, with flourishing early childhood centres, dedicated local educators, and strong networks of families experiencing education as an unhurried, joyful journey.
Our ultimate aspiration is to establish a full Waldorf school, expanding the joy, wonder, and reverence for childhood throughout the community.
We honour the unique needs of each child at every stage of their development.
Parents, educators, and friends walk together, supporting one another with care.
We cultivate reverence for the wisdom within every human being.
Our way of life embraces the interconnection between the human being and the cosmos.
We nurture respect for people and the natural environment.
We work with like-minded partners while keeping anthroposophical ideals alive.
At the Waldorf Steiner Education Association Singapore, we are dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of children, families, and educators. We believe that educationshould engage not only the mind, but also the heart and hands, supporting each individual to grow into their fullest potential with creativity, confidence, and purpose.
As part of a global movement of Waldorf/Steiner education, our association works to:
Our guiding impulse comes from Rudolf Steiner’s vision of anthroposophy, which seeks to understand the human being in its full potential — physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. In our context, this does not mean teaching a belief system, but rather drawing inspiration to support education that develops the whole human being in freedom and responsibility.
We welcome families, teachers, and friends who share a wish to nurture one another with warmth, creativity, and reverence for life.
WSEA(S) is guided by a 3-fold social order in the running of the association as well as learning centre operations, creating a healthy balance between the different parts of the organisation.
The Constitution outlines our association’s structure, governance, and guiding principles, aligned with our commitment to Waldorf education.
At the Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre, we offer children a nurturing home-away-from-home environment. Our teachers and parents form a close-knit team, actively engaging in craft circles, seasonal festivals, and the everyday joys of childhood.
We are proud to be connected with like-minded organizations that support child-centered, holistic education. Our key partners include
