Where learning grows through rhythm and care

Waldorf education is rooted in anthroposophy — a holistic approach to life and learning developed by Rudolf Steiner. It recognises imagination, creativity, and purpose as vital to child development.

At Waldorf Steiner Education Association (Singapore), or short for WSEA(S), this philosophy guides everything we do: from early childhood education to adult learning and community life. Whether it’s in the rhythm of a preschool day or a parent workshop, we honour the whole human being.

Waldorf Education & Anthroposophy

Anthroposophy is a way of understanding human beings as more than body and mind. It includes imagination, creativity, and purpose, and shows how education, art, nature, and community can support growth.

At WSEAS, these principles guide our work in early childhood, adult learning, and community life — seeing each child as unique and nurturing not only academics but emotional, social, and creative development.

A Loving CHILDHOOD Experience

At the Waldorf Steiner Early Years Centre, we offer children a nurturing home-away-from-home environment, where teachers and parents form a nurturing village that holds the space for children to unfold and experience, and experience the everyday joys of childhood – head, heart, and hands.

“Teaching with heart and presence”

“As a Waldorf teacher, I see how children thrive when given space to move, play, and imagine. The strong partnership with parents means we truly grow together as a community—everyone has a voice, and every child is known.”

Ms. Clara, Early Years teacher

‘Moving back to Singapore with a toddler a decade ago was a big transition, but WSEA(S) felt like a warm hug. We’ve found friends who’ve become like family, learned to live more mindfully, and connected with nature in meaningful ways. It’s been a beautiful and safe space for us to be ourselves, raise our child with like-minded families and just feel at home. I’m grateful for this supportive community that’s enriched our lives here and we will continue to give back in all the ways we can to help keep this initiative going!’

Maureen, former alumna parent, former WSEYC nurturer, Centre administrator, WSEAS member

‘As both a mother and a former teacher in the Waldorf Centre, I am deeply grateful for the experiences this community has given me. WSEAS has not only supported my child’s growth in the EYC but has also allowed me to connect with like-minded families who share similar values and aspirations. The strong sense of community spirit here has been inspiring and nurturing – we are not just parents and educators, but a circle of friends learning and growing together. Through my time with WSEAS, I’ve also deepened my understanding of the anthroposophic way of life, which has enriched both my parenting and my personal journey. It is rare to find a place where education, community, and personal development are so beautifully interwoven. I feel truly blessed to be part of it.’
